MANNY CHARLTON:   Sharp Re-loaded

The Chain

Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise
Runnin in the shadows
Damn your love, damn your lies

And if you dont love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You will never break the chain.

And if you dont love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You will never break the chain.

Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night
Runnin in the shadows
Damn your love, damn your lies

And if you dont love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You will never break the chain.

And if you dont love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You will never break the chain.

Chain keep us together

Cinema

You can have boys and boys
You can have girls and girls
You can have sex and violence
You can have space age toys
You can have anything that you think will fit
As long as it's box office,
As long as it's a hit

Cinema

You can have birdmen and snowmen
You can have women in red
Hero taxi drivers, talk about evil dead
Black hats and white hats, you know what I mean
A flashdance welder and Jesus in jeans

Norma Jean has gone with the wind
And we'll never, never see her no more
Jimmy Dean you drove that machine
Chased a dream, chased a dream

We've been up the junction,
Down the yellow brick road
We've got beauty and A beast
And a prince with a toad
We've got future adventures
You believe man can fly
Put on your 3-d glasses
Get a shark in the eye

Sumkinda

Sumkinda lover, sumkinda friend
Running for cover at the first sign of rain
Sumkinda partner, sumkinda life
Twist and a turn, twist in the night
Twist in the night

Sumkinda rightious, sumkinda faith
First to confession, last to forgive
Sumkinda leader, call yourself king
Words that are promises, don't mean a thing
Don't mean a thing

Can't find the dance floor, can't find the beat
Don't know the difference, of your own two feet
Can't find you dancing, stay out on a track
Don't try and mingle, watch your own back
Watch your own back
Watch your own back

Strength Of Strings

In my life the piano sings
Brings me words that are not the strength of strings
Firey rain and rubies cooling in the sun
Now I see that my world has only begun

Notes that roll on winds with swirling wings
Brings me words that are not the strength of strings

When I`m feeling high or I`m feeling low
Or there is no change
Somehow days keep melting into the night
And there`s always light upon the cosmic range

I am always high, I am always low
There is always change
Hear the strings are bending in harmony
Not so far from the breaking on the cosmic range

In my life the piano sings
Brings me words that are not the strength of strings
Firey rain and rubies cooling in the sun
Now I see that my world has only begun

Notes that roll on winds with swirling wings
Brings me words that are not the strength of strings

Rock n Roll Star

So you want to be a rock n roll star?
Then listen now to what I say
Just get an electric guitar
And take some time
And learn how to play
And with your hair swung right
And your pants fit tight
Its gonna be all right

Then its time to go downtown
Where the agent man won't let you down
Sell your soul to the company
Who are waiting there to sell plastic ware
And in a week or two
If you make the charts
The girls will tear you apart

The price you paid for your riches and fame
Was it all a strange game?
Your a little insane
The money, the fame, the public acclaim
Dont forget what you are
Youre a rock n roll star!

Norwegian Wood

I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me...
She showed me her room, isn't it good, norwegian wood?

She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a chair.

I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine
We talked until two and then she said, "It's time for bed"

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood.

Nearly Fine

How have I been, I'm nearly fine
I just been hanging on the line
Its a brand new day,
The weather has changed
You got the sunshine, I got rain

But I've been thinking of ya and
I've been dreaming of ya
I'm glad to say I'm nearly fine

Sit yourself down, talk to me
Is this the way it has to be
Someone new, filled my space
You were always a fool for a pretty face

But I've been thinking of ya and
I've been dreaming of ya
I'm glad to say I'm nearly fine

Always the fool, I'm still a wreck
You never forgive, you never forget
You look the same, but something has changed
Is there a new name for this game,

But I've been thinking of ya and
I've been dreaming of ya
I'm glad to say I'm nearly fine

How have I been, I'm nearly fine
I just been hanging on the line
Its a brand new day,
The weather has changed
You got the sunshine, I got rain

But I've been thinking of ya and
I've been dreaming of ya
I'm glad to say I'm nearly fine

Who Do You Love

I walk 47 miles of barbed wire,
I use a cobra-snake for a necktie,
I got a brand new house on the roadside,
Made from rattlesnake hide,
I got a brand new chimney made on top,
Made out of a human skull,
Now come on take a little walk with me, Arlene
And tell me, who do you love?

Who do you love?

The night was dark, when the sky was blue,
Down the alley, the ice-wagon flew,
Heard a bump, and somebody screamed,
You should have heard just what I seen.
Tombstone hand and a graveyard mine,
Just 22 and I don't mind dying.
Now come on take a little walk with me, Arlene
And tell me, who do you love?

Who do you love?

I walk 47 miles of barbed wire,
I use a cobra-snake for a necktie,
I got a brand new house on the roadside,
Made from rattlesnake hide,
I got a brand new chimney made on top,
Made from a human skull,
Now come on take a little walk with me, Arlene
And tell me, who do you love?

Wicked Messenger

There was a wicked messenger
From Eli he did come,
With a mind that multiplied
The smallest matter.
When questioned who had sent for him,
He answered with his thumb,
For his tongue it could not speak, but only flatter.

He stayed behind the assembly hall
It was there he made his bed,
Often times he could be seen returning.
Until one day he just appeared
With a note in his hand which read,
"The soles of my feet, I swear they're burning."

Oh, the leaves began to fallin'
And the seas began to part,
And the people that confronted him were many.
And he was told but these few words,
Which opened up his heart,
"If ye cannot bring us good news, then don't bring any."

Fallen Angel

If you've never had no one
Take the word of a fallen angel
If you never been no where
Take the word of a fallen angel
If you've ever been lonely
Take the word of a fallen angel

You know you're not the first to fall
And you know you won't be the last
In flight, you never think you can
Can be the one who's gonna crash.

When you think you can't go on
Look around for a fallen angel
When you feel you're the lost one
Look around for a fallen angel
When you're hurtin' for someone
Look around for a fallen angel

You know you're not the first to fall
And you know you won't be the last
In flight, you never think you can
Can be the one who's gonna crash

Don't you think it's time to show
Don't you think it's time we know
What's in your heart

There's a lesson to be learned
Take the word of a fallen angel
There's a song for every heart
Take the word of a fallen angel
When you find out where you are
Don't you know you're a fallen angel
If you've never had no one.
