Only A Dream
The woman screams at the windy day
her children play in the acid rain
the water is green and the sky is brown
the cars and buildings, all broken down

When the pilot informed us of what he was planning
and I heard the dirty words 'Emergency landing'
well my brakes locked up and my wheels fell off
now it's all I that can manage to go for a walk
I can see alright, all I need of the world outside
I believe instead
the important part is in my heart and not my head and

The War In The Gulf Between Us
It started long ago, you have to understand
we thought we'd make a life, we thought we had a plan
we built it like a house and filled it up with kids
the only trouble is
I won't be back again
Cause something in my heart has taken to the wind
and nothing I can do will bring it back again
nobody ever wins the war in the gulf between us
something in my heart no longer could survive
those battles in the day, the quiet in the night
I lost the will to fight the war in the gulf between us
And then it all began, the quarrels and the moods
I tip-toed all around you; you danced around me too
and somewhere in between we found the time for love
the only trouble is
it never was enough

Ever since I was a kid I never did fit in
while all the other fish were learning how to swim
I was dying
to be a member of the tribe
And when I went to school my head was in a cloud
the teacher said, 'You will never be allowed,

I stick right out like a big sore thumb
